Slide the Stein - What is it?
It's simple: slide a beer stein down the long wooden track. The aim? Get the glass to stop just past the target, but without it falling off the end - and herein lies the skill!
It is often said that it's the simplest concepts that are the best, and that is also the case with Slide the Stein. The brain-child of Wilhelm (take from that what you will...), it is a game that has already proven incredibly popular - and addictive - at many functions including weddings and corporate events.
The nuts and bolts
The wooden slide itself is six meters long once assembled. A large water-filled bucket is placed at one end to catch the stein, which is itself also filled with water - but not too much of course! We wouldn't want you getting soaked, obviously.
The target sits fixed at the opposite end of the slide, and can be adjusted to make it easier - or harder - to keep the stein on the slide.
Playing it could not be simpler: grab your stein, and slide it down the....er, slide! Get it beyond the target but not into the water barrel, and you will become legend, and have bragging rights for years to come.
Who can play?
It is a game for a very wide age group. Whilst it can be played by children, it is of course an adults game; for the reason being the steins are glass and it sits half a meter of the ground. But as the trained staff are there; we are happy for children to play! The two trained staff will keep the game moving - the only real danger is how addictive it is!
